Types of jumping spiders

Hey guys today I will be talking about different types of spiders you can find in Singapore that fight. I am almost certain if you put two males of the same species they will fight but I cannot guarantee that it will happen.

1. Adansons house jumper

I used to thought that this was the fighting spider...yup...
This spider was common in my old house, always under flower pots and in the bookshelf, sadly nowadays I rarely see it.

2.mangrove jumper

Below is the male mangrove jumper. They are quite big, biggest I caught was about 1.5-2cm long. I normally find them on their webs and hanging from treetops in Sungei Buloh wetland reserve.they are quite common.

Methods of catching FS

Hello guys! I am back and today I am going to talk about different methods of catching spiders. Some of you might think just catch and hoo yah but in reality it is not that simple. So here are a few ways that I have and some I have not tried yet.

1. KOP method
This method I never used before because I am afraid I will squash the spider. As the video above shows, you cup the spider and the leaves surrounding it and then you pull it out with all your force, causing the plant to break. I recommend this method for beginners

2.LIJOYH method

This method is very hard and it does not guarantee that you will get the spider as it might jump off and run away.  i do not recommend this method.

3.net

This is also one of the other trickier methods as you might either squash it or let it escape. I do not recommend this method.

Introductory to blog

Hello welcome to my blog. I am Samuel sim,14 years old from Singapore. A few years ago, there was a series on the TV called " fighting spiders ". That was what started to spark my interests in the little buggers.

Above is an image of an average fighting spider I found on the net. Their arms are long and their heads have a slight hue of neon blue. Another thing that sparked my interests was a trip to Hong Kong. When at Hong Kong,we went on this hill with a flight of stairs and had golden monk statues at the side. I was walking when I spotted this HUGE jumping spider,or as FS enthusiasts would call them, King Kong pow. It was about 2.5 cm long with bright neon green colouration. I caught it but my mom being a superstitious person, said the spider could contain the spirits of the monk and forced me to let it go...sigh... Below is an image of a King Kong pow type of spider.

That is it for today's blog folks! See you guys tomorrow!
